Federally recognized as “Washington’s Birthday,” Presidents’ Day has expanded throughout the years to exist as a celebration of all Presidents of the United States, both past and present. As we prepare to take this time to celebrate our nation’s great leaders, we leave you to ponder and find inspiration in quotes from several of our past Commanders in Chief.

“Things do not happen. Things are made to happen.”
– John F. Kennedy

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”
– John Quincy Adams

“Tell the truth, work hard and come to dinner on time.”
– Gerald Ford.

“Freedom is the open window through which pours the sunlight of the human spirit and human dignity.”
– Herbert Hoover

“Be sure to put your feet in the right place, then stand firm.”
– Abraham Lincoln

“Believe that you can an you’re halfway there.”
– Theodore Roosevelt

“Plans are nothing; planning is everything.”
– Dwight D. Eisenhower

“Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence.”
– George Washington
